Thedifferentiallockshouldbeusedonicyorslipperysurfaces.Assoonasthe
slipperysurfacehasbeenpassed,thedifferentiallockshouldbedisengaged.
Differentiallocksmustnot,underanycircumstances,beengagedwhenina
wheel-spinsituation.Engagethelocksaheadoftheslipperyarea.Ifalreadyslipping,
stopthewheels,engagethelocksandthencontinue.Ifthedifferentiallocksare
engagedwhenthewheelsarespinning,thedifferentialwillbedamagedandtherear
axledriveunitcouldpossiblyfail.
Alleffortsmustbemadetoavoidspinningthewheelsathighspeedsonslippery
surfaces.Thisistruewhetherthedifferentiallocksareengagedornot.Excessive
wheelspinmayresultinfailureoftheclustergearsandothercomponentsfound
withintherearaxlehousing(s).Ifyouareunabletoobtaintraction,engagethe
differentiallocksasdescribedbelow.Ifyouarestillunabletomovethetruck,seek
assistancefromaqualiedtowoperator.

1Depresstheclutchpedal.Waitforthedrivewheelstostopspinning.
