gallon)isdeterminedbyalargenumberofcircumstanceswhichcanberelatedtoone
ofthefollowingmainareas:

•Serviceandmaintenance
•Externalenvironment
•Drivinghabits
Duetothesefactors,fuelconsumptioncanvaryconsiderablywithinwhatiscalled
"normalfuelconsumption."Fuelconsumptioncanvaryfromover24L/100km(10
mpg)whendrivingemptyonaniceanddrysummerroadto67L/100km(3.5mpg)
whiledrivingwithmaximumpermittedGVW,withvehicleandtrailer,onahilly
andslushywinterroad.
BuildSpecicationandEquipment
Wheneveravehicleisusedfortransportation,itsbuildspecication,equipmentand
grossvehicleweighthaveadecisiveeffectonbothfuelconsumptionandperformance.
Thefactorswhichhavethegreatestinuenceonfuelconsumptionareprimarily:
