VOLVOENHANCEDSTABILITY
TECHNOLOGY
SomevehiclesareequippedwithV olvoEnhancedStabilityTechnology(VEST).
VESTisanadvancedstabilitycontrolsystemdesignedtoprovidebothrollstability
andunder-andover-steercorrectioninawidevarietyofdrivingconditions.VEST
continuouslymonitorsavarietyofvehicleparametersandsensors(includingsteering
anglesensor)todeterminewhetherthevehicleisreachingcriticalstabilitythreshold.
Atthatpoint,VESTisdesignedtointervenebyinstantlyde-throttlingtheengineand
applyingindividualtractorandtrailerbrakesasneededtoregaincontrol.
