Reconditioning

4. Make line-up marks between the turbine housing,

the bearing housing and the compressor housing. Dis-

mantle the compressor housing (1). Unscrew the

left-hand threaded nut which holds the compressor

wheel, using dollies on the turbine shaft. Remove the

compressor wheel (2) and dismantle the turbine hous-

ing (3).

5. Dismantle the turbine shaft (4) and the heat shield.

If the turbine shaft sticks, tap the end gently with a

wooden hammer. Unfasten the three screws which

hold the cover (3) and screw two M5 screws into the

cover. Then lift it up. Take the oil deflector (7) out of

the cover.
