Voice control

Sensus connect now includes an improved speech engine on all cars, with and without a

Navigation system. Voice control is an important element in Volvo’s ambition to make the interface

between the car and the user as easy as possible. Less distraction means higher concentration on

the road and vehicle surroundings.

• The state-of-the-art speech engine is powered by Nuance, an industry leader in speech

recognition software.

• Instead of the previous input prompting one step at a time, the new speech recognition uses

“one shot destination” approach in the navigation system. The user just provides the full

address in one stream (e.g. “one main street, Anytown, New State”) .

• On top of improved function, voice control is extended to infotainment including radio

functions; in addition to Navigation and telephone control we already include today.
